Upload your Instagram data to compare your followers and following lists in your browser.
How to download your Instagram data
- In Instagram, go to Settings → Account center → Your information and permissions → Export your information.
- Start a new export with Create export (or the same action your app shows).
- When Instagram asks where to send the export, choose Export to this device (wording may be Export to device).
- Under Customize information, select only Followers and following. Set Date range to All time and Format to JSON.
- Finish the request. Instagram will email you when your export is ready to download.
- When you get the email, open the same place in the app: Settings → Account center → Your information and permissions → Export your information, and download your files from there.

Unzip the download. For this page you need
following.jsonandfollowers_1.jsonfrom inside the archive (folders differ by export version—search by filename if needed).
Privacy and Policy
How your data is used
This site runs entirely in your web browser. Your Instagram export
files (following.json, followers_*.json)
are read only on your device using the JavaScript on this page.
Nothing is uploaded to a server, stored in a database, or sent to the developer. Closing or leaving the page discards the data from memory (except what your browser may cache locally like any other website).

This project is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Instagram, Meta, or any of their products or companies. Names and trademarks belong to their respective owners.
This is a personal project I built for my own fun and for educational purposes. It is offered as-is for learning and experimentation only—not as an official tool or service related to Instagram.

The page is hosted on GitHub Pages, which serves static files only. It does not receive your JSON uploads or comparison results.
Don't follow you back
Anyone missing from your followers file is counted here—including deactivated accounts that no longer appear as followers—so not every name is someone who still uses Instagram but ignores you.
